Ezekiel 40:28-41:26, James 4:1-17, Psalm 118:19-29, Proverbs 28:3-5
“To complain about the law is to praise wickedness. To obey the law is to fight evil. Evil men don’t understand the importance of justice, but those who follow the Lord are much concerned about it.” Proverbs 28:3-5
In the recent past in America, and still in some areas, there has been a move to defund the police and reroute the money to social programs. Looks good on paper but it isn’t translating well in the real world. The large cities that have tried this have seen an uptick in crime, murder, robbery, why even a council man who voted for the defunding got his car jacked by a group of teens…right in front of him. Wow! While we can’t hit all the finer points, one part of the problem is there are groups out there who are stereotyping everyone. If you’re a cop, you’re evil, if you are white, you are a dangerous bigot, if you are black, you’re a criminal, or a victim, depending on which group you’re speaking to. STOP THE INSANITY!! Please stop painting everyone with the same broad brush. We are all individual human beings with our likes, dislikes and idiosyncrasies. Know this, the race-baiters and the haters are usually the ones rich enough to not be touched by the aftermath of their foolishness.
PRAYER: Lord, I pray for America. I ask that You bring justice for all in a manner conducive to peace. We need You here. We love You. Give us wisdom and guidance on how we can be unifying vessels of healing. If you are able to steer a river or use an animal to perform Your will, surely You can touch our elected officials and social leaders to do the right thing. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
