“Fear of man is a dangerous trap, but to trust in God means safety.” Proverbs 29:25 People can be so intimidating. I’ve found that since being a Christian I think way too much about what people think. I do it because I don’t want to wound or offend anyone. I want to be a good witness. Sometimes I don’t want them to persecute me. Such a balance between being Christlike and being fearful. One thing that has helped me through the years is to realize God’s got me and others; He can cover our errors. Sometimes the enemy of our souls can make us feel horrible if we don’t scream about Jesus on a corner or talk salvation to every person we meet in every situation. The thing is this, the Lord will let us know when He definitively wants us to say or do something. Some things we’ll just know because the situation falls in line with His known will and Word. Be bold in the things that God is pressing on your heart. To trust in Him is to be free from fear because His perfect love cast out all fear. I’d rather please Jesus than worry about what a person may think. PRAYER: Lord, help me to trust and follow after You. I want to walk in boldness and have a knowing in my heart that I am doing and saying the right thing. I trust that even if someone is offended it will be because of truth and You will use it to help them. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. |
