On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Pastor Ricky Sinclair opened our new series Party in the House at Miracle Place Church in Baker, Louisiana, with a simple question: who is the church?
I don’t want to do regular church, traditional church. I want kingdom-of-God church. We are the house of God, and in the house of God anything can happen.
If church is three songs and a short sermon and nobody is touched by God’s presence and power, Pastor Ricky said, we haven’t had church according to the Bible.
A King, a kingdom and a royal people
“If you think the church is just about you getting saved and being good, you’re missing the purpose of the church.” The church is the kingdom of God. God lives in every one of us who is born again, and we carry heaven’s authority everywhere we go. That’s what we pray in the Lord’s Prayer: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
Pastor Ricky said it comes down to three things to remember: a King, a kingdom, and a royal people. “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9–10).
Bring your measure
Pastor Ricky shared a revelation he said he received just that week, after 23 years of pastoring. Jesus received the Spirit without measure (John 3:34). The rest of us each have a measure: a measure of faith, a measure of grace, a measure of a gift.
I alone cannot manifest the full measure of the power of Christ. You can’t do it alone. None of us can.
But Ephesians 1:22–23 says the church is Christ’s body, “the fullness of Him that fills all in all.” When we all come together and bring our faith, grace and gifts, we become the full measure of Jesus Christ, “and when the full measure shows up, anything can happen.”
Chosen, adopted and accepted
Ephesians 1:3–7 tells us who we are: blessed “with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ,” chosen in Him “before the foundation of the world,” adopted as God’s children through Jesus, accepted, and redeemed through His blood. “God had a plan for you and your life.” That’s why we can’t treat faith like a twice-a-month habit. “You’ve got to go all in for God.”
Living on miracle money
Pastor Ricky remembered the early days when he and Jeannie had almost nothing: two jobs, an old car with no reverse gear, and $240 a week from a body shop. One day, counting his pay in twenties, the money kept coming out to more than $240. In the only open vision he says he’s ever had, he heard God say, “I’m going to multiply everything that touches your hands.”
When they lined up with God’s kingdom, started serving and volunteering, and trusted Him (Deuteronomy 28:12), their lives changed. “I’m not saying we’re filthy rich, but every need that we have is being met, and we’ve got peace in our house.” He was clear that this isn’t instead of work: “I believe you’ve got to work, and I believe you’ve got to strategize,” but God will supernaturally open doors and opportunities.
A son, not a servant
In the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15), the younger son wastes his inheritance and ends up feeding pigs. At his lowest point, “he came to himself” and decided to go home, but he planned to say, “I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”
If you’ve given your heart to Jesus Christ, you’re still a son, even though you’ve lost your way.
The devil will tell you you’re not worthy, but the father was watching for his son, ran to him, and threw a celebration: “This my son was dead, and is alive again.” That’s the party in the house.
The older brother stayed outside, bitter that he never got a party. The father answered, “Son, all that I have is yours.” Pastor Ricky’s challenge: “Stop acting like a servant and start acting like a son.” We’ve been adopted into God’s family, blessed with every spiritual blessing, and given His covenant promises. “Everything God has is ours. All we’ve got to do is walk in it.”
