| Isaiah 3:1-5:30, II Corinthians 11:1-15, Psalm 53:1-6, Proverbs 22:28-29
“God never sent those men at all; they are “phonies” who have fooled you into thinking they are Christ’s apostles. Yet I am not surprised! Satan can change himself into an angel of light, so it is no wonder his servants can do it too and seem like godly ministers. In the end they will get every bit of punishment their wicked deeds deserve.” II Corinthians 11:13-15
Unfortunately, there are many “ministers” out there who are only in the gospel for the check. We have to be aware of this and know that not everyone who seems spiritual is. These people are deceived and seek to bring you into their deception. Shaking, quaking, hollering loud, falling out, unproven ministry in a foreign land – none of these things are proof of anointing. Know God for yourself instead of trusting external things. Know the Word so you can spot things that aren’t right. Know Holy Spirit so you are trained to hear His voice. If you have a check in your spirit, if you see them do or say things that are contrary to the Word of God, if their walk doesn’t line up with their talk, run.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to pay attention to Holy Spirit and to follow His lead. Keep me from the spirit of deception. Teach me to be discerning. I don’t want to be suspicious of everyone, so show me when something is wrong. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. |
