| Ecclesiastes 10:1-12:14, II Corinthians 8:1-15, Psalm 49:1-20, Proverbs 22:20-21
“There is no need to fear when times of trouble come, even though surrounded by enemies! They trust in their wealth and boast about how rich they are, yet not one of them, though rich as kings, can ransom his own brother from the penalty of sin! For God’s forgiveness does not come that way. For a soul is far too precious to be ransomed by mere earthly wealth. There is not enough of it in all the earth to buy eternal life for just one soul to keep it out of hell…But as for me, God will redeem my soul from the power of death, for He will receive me.” Psalm 49:5-9, 15
The only thing that breaks the power of sin and death is the blood of Jesus. Gold may be useful here but in God’s eyes it’s mere pavement. There is nothing we possess that can save our souls, that’s why God sent a part of Himself in the form of His Son Jesus. He paid His own penalty because He knew we could not do it for ourselves. Like the Psalmist we can say, “God will redeem my soul…” because if we accept God’s payment then we are redeemed indeed.
PRAYER: God I AM SHOUTING!! Thank You so much for giving me a shot! I am so grateful, and I gladly accept Jesus’ payment for my debt. Color me free! I am so excited that when I leave this earth, I am stepping into Your presence. I am not going to rot in a grave, I am not going to dwell in the darkness of hell, according to Your Word, when I am absent from this body, I will be present with You. Love You Lord, help me to share this truth with everyone. |
