| Job 31:1-33:33, II Corinthians 3:1-18, Psalm 43:1-5, Proverbs 22:8-9
“He is the one who has helped us tell others about his new agreement to save them. We do not tell them that they must obey every law of God or die, but we tell them there is life for them from the Holy Spirit. The old way, trying to be saved by keeping the Ten Commandments, ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives them life.” II Corinthians 3:6
You better shout! This is a great deal. The Bible says that the Ten Commandments were basically given to us so that we could see what sin was. No one has ever kept all ten, no matter how great they are. If we fail in one area, we are guilty of all. Crazy right. It was God’s way of showing us that we just do not have the ability apart from Him to live the way we should. We NEED a savior. Enter the New Testament. Christ has paid the price for our sin and if we receive what He has done we are covered. Holy Spirit resides with us and guides us into truth and righteousness. We don’t have the pressure of trying to uphold the law although it becomes easier to do what is right because our desires are somehow changed with Christ. Weird right?! Before it was such a struggle to do right, now I just want to do my best. That’s how love is though…
PRAYER: Lord, I love and appreciate You so much. I am so grateful You were willing to give Yourself for me. Thank You for making a better way. Thank You for changing the desires of my heart. I could not live this life apart from You Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. |
