| Job 20:1-22:30, II Corinthians 1:1-11, Psalm 40:11-17, Proverbs 22:2-4
“What a wonderful God we have – He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of every mercy, and the one who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. And why does He do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us.” II Corinthians 1:3-40
We are the hands and heart of Jesus. We are obliged to offer comfort and help to others. It gives us an opportunity to reveal our great God who has such a heart for people. He holds and keeps us in all our distresses to teach us how to be there for others who are hurting.
The Mississippi River in America flows through many states, blessing the residents with fish and entertainment until it pours into the Gulf of Mexico and continues on its life-giving journey. In Israel, fresh water flows until it ends at the Dead Sea. Be an ocean, not a Dead Sea. Let God’s love continue to flow through you. You are blessed to be a blessing.
PRAYER: Lord, I don’t want to be a blessing hoarder. Help me to share with others all the kindness You have shown to me. It’s easy to be compassionate when my crisis is fresh, but I want to continue that love and mercy even when all is well with me. Help me to be a conduit for Your grace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. |
