“‘Well, suggested Zeresh, his wife, and all his friends, ‘get ready a 75-foot high gallows, and in the morning ask the king to let you hang Mordecai on it; and when this is done you can go on your merry way with the king to the banquet.’ This pleased Haman immensely, and he ordered the gallows built. That night the king had trouble sleeping and decided to read awhile. He ordered the historical records of his kingdom from the library, and in them he came across the item telling how Mordecai had exposed the plot of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, watchmen at the palace gates who had plotted to assassinate him. ‘What reward did we ever give Mordecai for this?’ the king asked.” Esther 5:14-6:2
Who knows the trouble the Lord has spared us from? Haman started out his day plotting to kill Mordecai; however, the Lord disturbed the king’s sleep and he did a little light reading on assassination plots and such. Can you see the amazing hand of God? The Lord turned it around and Mordecai was honored by his mortal enemy who in turn was humbled. It reminds me of the scripture, “He prepares a table for me in the presence of my enemies.” (Psalm 23:5) God is faithful. Every day give Him a shout of praise, because whether we see it or not the God of Israel does not sleep or slumber. He is active on our behalf, stirring up kings and protecting us from unknown danger. I don’t know about you, but I’m a give Jesus a shout and a little jig right now!! Get excited, the God of the universe is for you!
PRAYER: Lord, thank You so much for taking care of me. There is no telling how much danger you have spared me from through the years. I appreciate You so much and I am Yours. So grateful that You take care of Your own. I completely trust You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. |
