Miracle Moment

Ezekiel 33:1-34:31, Hebrews 13:1-25, Psalm 115:1-18, Proverbs 27:21-22

“Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed – be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, ‘I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [not give you up, not leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax my hold on you [assuredly not]! So, we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5-6

Full disclosure, I am not opposed to money and success, however, it is not my god. Greed captures our heart through a lack of trust in God. If we truly trust God’s plan and wisdom for our lives, then we will not feel as though we need to scratch and scrape for the almighty dollar. The Lord is faithful, can we be content in our lives? Discontentment and ingratitude are open doors for the enemy of our souls to ease in and take advantage. Don’t let money, or the lack thereof, set you adrift from your moral compass. The spirit behind the love of money is highly deceitful. Money can never satisfy the pit in our hearts a part from Christ. It is not dependable and cannot be counted on to soothe every part of our lives.

PRAYER: Father, teach me to keep my eyes on You. I have no desire to replace You with the idol of money. It is not my god, You are my God, my living God. You have always been faithful, even when You came in different ways than I anticipated. Help me to be content in whatever state I find myself. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
