Daniel 7:1-28, I John 1:1-10, Psalm 119:153-176, Proverbs 28:23-24
“This is the message God has given us to pass on to you: that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. So, if we say we are His friends but go on living in spiritual darkness and sin, we are lying. But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. And it is perfectly proper for God to do this for us because Christ died to wash away our sins.” I John 1:5-9
Sounds a little confusing; let me clarify. Basically, we are kidding ourselves if we say we are walking with God yet nothing has changed in our lives. If we are still okay with being spiritually dark and performing sin without remorse, then we might need to check ourselves. However, if we are loving God and staying next to Him but we get off track sometimes, then that’s a different story. We are in the process of failure and growth and as we recognize we are coming up short and ask God to forgive us and help us, then He will most certainly hear our cry. Be encouraged, God knows your heart and your walk.
PRAYER: Lord, help me not to be afraid to acknowledge my short comings before You. I need You so much. I pray for those who front about being godly yet they are far from You. Please reveal truth to them and save them Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
