Miracle Moment

July 11, 2026

Zechariah 12:1-13:9, Revelation 19:1-21, Psalm 147:1-20, Proverbs 31:1-7

“And it is not for kings, O Lemuel, to drink wine and whiskey. For if they drink, they may forget their duties and be unable to give justice to those who are oppressed. Hard liquor is for sick men at the brink of death, and wine for those in deep depression. Let them drink to forget their poverty and misery.” Proverbs 31:4-7

Why can’t I numb myself with substances? Because people who are struggling within themselves and those who have given up seek to use substances to escape. That’s not you. We want you sober and thinking so you can be an asset to society, not another statistic.

In ages past, alcohol was also used for medication because they didn’t have anything for upset stomach or pain and it could bring some relief. I’m obviously not saying it hasn’t had its purposes, however, if we aren’t trying to relieve physical pain, in hospice or have given up on life, then we need to stay clear-headed. O Lemuel, or “insert name here,” God has designed you for purpose and destiny. Don’t get side-lined by mind altering substances. Stand strong, be true, handle your business.

PRAYER: Lord, I look to You for mental relief from stress and deliverance from things that burden me. Forgive me for any sin I have committed that continues to weigh on me. Help me to forgive and release those who have done me wrong as well. I just can’t bear up under that load. I am actively casting my cares on You because I believe and know that You care for me. Help those who are addicted, set them free. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
