Joshua 21:1-22:20; Luke 20:1-26; Psalm 89:1-13; Proverbs 13:15-16
The second generation of Israel coming out of Egypt through the wilderness and into God’s promises, teaches us how to receive God’s blessing and intended purpose for our lives. God gave Israel all of the land which He swore to give them. God wants to take care of you and be your source just as He was for Israel.
The Lord gave them rest as He had promised. Yes, there is a time of testing, molding and shaping, but in the end, God’s will is to give you rest and peace. Shout somebody! The Lord delivered all of their enemies into their hands. They won every war and conquered every city and possessed all the land. God wants us to overcome every circumstance, trial and temptation. His will is for us to be victorious in every area of our lives. “There failed not any good thing the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel.” God wants every good thing in our lives to succeed that He has spoken to us. (Joshua 21:43-45)
What did the second generation do that brought God’s promises to pass? They kept the commandments of the Lord (honor). They obeyed Joshua’s voice (authority). They did not leave their brothers to fight alone (unity/teamwork). They kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord. When God said go, they listened to His voice. (Joshua 22:1-4)
We learn how to walk in God’s fulfillment by always being diligent: 1) to love the Lord, 2) to walk in all His ways, 3) to keep His commands, 4) to cleave to Him, and 5) to serve Him with all our heart.
PRAYER:
God, I’m asking You to lead me and speak to me about Your promises, Your assignment and Your purpose for my life. I choose by my will to love and serve You with all of my heart. Now just as You brought to pass all of the promises for Israel so cause Your promises to be manifested in my life. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen. |
