Hosea 4:1-5:15, II John 1:1-13, Psalm 125:1-5, Proverbs 29:9-11
“For if you wander beyond the teaching of Christ, you will leave God behind; while if you are loyal to Christ’s teachings, you will have God too. Then you will have both the Father and the Son.” II John 1:9
It’s important we judge all teachings next to the Word of God. The Bible is our guide, our plumb line. People may say there is no absolute truth. Folks agree to all kinds of crazy stuff if there’s no definitive outline; however, life and justice demand absolutes. Whenever a subject is presented, take a moment to see if it comes into agreement with what Jesus taught.
PRAYER: Lord, I don’t want to get outside of Your teachings. Help me to be discerning and to take time to study topics out so that I don’t fall into deception. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
