“What a shame – yes, how stupid! – to decide before knowing the facts!” Proverbs 18:13
Well, well. I know that I have been guilty of doing this. You hear your friend or family member’s side of an issue, or you listen to something on the news and before you know it, the judgment of public opinion sets in. Then all of a sudden, facts don’t matter anymore, the other side of the issue doesn’t matter anymore. Then, if we listen, we get the other side of the story or more information becomes available and we feel like a fool. Some people can’t choke out the fact that they were wrong to jump ahead without all of the facts so they’ll continue to push their narrative. If you find yourself in this position, humble yourself, make things right, stop repeating the lie and for Pete’s sake don’t get offended over anything but especially things that have nothing to do with you!
PRAYER: Lord, I ask You to remind me when I’m taking sides, or making judgments, before I’ve gotten all of the facts. Help me to not get caught up in propaganda. Teach me to silence the noise so that You can give me truth. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
