I Chronicles 5:18-6:81, Acts 26:1-32, Psalm 6:1-10, Proverbs 18:20-21
“I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and through Judea, and also to the Gentiles that all must forsake their sins and turn to God – and prove their repentance by doing good deeds.” Acts 26:20
Wha?! You mean change is expected when I receive Christ? Uh, yeah. But don’t panic, God will help you. When God was dealing with my heart, I cried out and said, “I can’t live for You. I don’t have the desire or ability to be straight and normal.” I felt in my heart that God was extending His hand and saying to me that I didn’t have to do anything but take His hand. And, it worked! All I did was take a step toward Him and He totally transformed me. Forsaking my sins wasn’t the challenge it would’ve been apart from Christ. There was no problem showing that I was different by doing good deeds. My heart was changed, my desires were changed, and good deeds flowed organically. God will do the heavy lifting if we will move toward Him.
PRAYER: Thank You so much for extending Your hand to me Lord. You already knew I didn’t have the ability to live for You and yet not only did you draw me, but You also changed my desires and gave me a heart to live for you. Thank You and I pray that You will draw those who are still lost so they can experience You like I have. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
