I Chronicles 24:1-26:11, Romans 4:1-12, Psalm 13:1-6, Proverbs 19:15-16
“Lazy people sleep soundly, but idleness leaves them hungry.” Proverbs 19:15
Idleness: An inclination not to do work or engage in activities.
A period of idleness can be restful for the soul, but prolonged inactivity will make you hungry in so many ways. You can be hungry hungry because you are lazy and won’t work therefore you have no money to pay for necessities. You can be hungry for change because you refuse to move forward. You can be hungry for excitement because you won’t engage adventure. You can be hungry for companionship because you won’t put the work into a relationship. So many ways to be hungry…
Take a chance, get up, move around, live again. One small tweak in your life can totally transform things. Ask God to give you passion and a spark to overcome the lazy areas of your life. Jump on in the water is fine!
PRAYER: Lord, help me to hate being lazy, enough that it will ignite change in my attitude and action. Teach me how to get back in the game. Give me a desire to do of Your good pleasure. Strengthen my body, mind, and spirit for all that You have for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
