II Chronicles 4:1-6:11, Romans 7:1-13, Psalm 17:1-15, Proverbs 19:24-25
“The band and chorus united as one to praise and thank the Lord; their selections were interspersed with trumpet obbligatos, the clashing of cymbals, and the loud playing of other musical instruments – all praising and thanking the Lord. Their theme was “He is so good! His loving-kindness lasts forever!” And at that moment the glory of the Lord, coming as a bright cloud, filled the Temple so that the priests could not continue their work.” II Chronicles 5:13-14
Whoop, whoop! Hands up high! I am shouting! There is nothing more amazing than to be in the presence of the Lord as He inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3) The Temple is complete; the priests are installed and now they are starting the worship service. As they do, the cloud of God descends on them and it is so strong they cannot even stand up. WOW! So, to all of your haters of instruments and loud music in church, God seems to like it so I think we’re good.
PRAYER: Lord, Your Presence is welcome in this place. Wherever I am, whenever I worship, I always want You to be honored and to visit me. Love You so much and I am eternally grateful to You for Your friendship and grace. Amen.
