Nehemiah 3:15-5:13, I Corinthians 7:25-40, Psalm 32:1-11, Proverbs 21:5-7
“What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record. There was a time when I wouldn’t admit what a sinner I was. But my dishonesty made me miserable and filled my days with frustration. All day and all night Your hand was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water on a sunny day until I finally admitted all my sins to You and stopped trying to hide them. I said to myself, ‘I will confess them to the Lord.’ And You forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Now I say that each believer should confess his sins to God when he is aware of them, while there is time to be forgive. Judgment will not touch him if he does.” Psalm 32:1-6
I don’t know about you, but even when I try to gloss over my sins like they aren’t that big of a deal, the Lord presses heavy on me. There have been times in life that I didn’t understand what was going on, but we can see it clearly in this Psalm that God’s love for us won’t allow us to continue in unrighteousness. What a burden, a weighing down sin is! Just know that if you are feeling that way, right now you can be free from that guilt and pressure. God is for you and wants to lift that off of you, just ask…
PRAYER: Lord, I ask You to reveal truth to me. Forgive me for anything that is displeasing in Your sight. I want to experience the power of Your presence, not this wall that has been between us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
