Jeremiah 28:1-29:32, I Timothy 1:1-20, Psalm 86:1-17, Proverbs 25:17
“The truth is this: You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised and bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days, when you pray, I will listen. You will find me when you look for me in earnest.” Jeremiah 29:10-13
God is for us, even in the midst of correction. Romans 8:28 says all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Israel is in captivity to Babylon and will be for seventy years. Yet even now, the Lord is telling them if they will trust Him and turn to Him then He will do them good.
No matter where we find ourselves in life, we must trust and believe that God will do us good in the end. He is for us and not against us. We must keep our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith because He is righteous and true, and He has a plan lined out. Trust God, trust the process. Wear your girdle of truth and keep your helmet of salvation strapped tightly on in order to keep your thoughts flowing in the right direction. War against depression, impending doom, and the like. Pick up your sword, block and shatter the darts of the enemy.
PRAYER: Lord, keep my heart steadfast. May my eyes always be on You. Even when I have not been just, when I repent, soothe my spirit. When I am reaping what I have sown, help me to remember Your faithfulness when I turn to You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
