Jeremiah 16:16-18:23, I Thessalonians 4:1-5:3, Psalm 81:1-16, Proverbs 25:6-8
“You must never worship any other god, nor ever have an idol in Your home. For it was I, Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Only test Me! Open your mouth wide and see if I won’t fill it. You will receive every blessing you can use!” Psalm 81:9-10
This is the first time God encourages us to test Him. The second comes in Malachi when He challenges us to throw the gauntlet down to see if He will provide. As you can see, both are in provision. You know it’s a king’s responsibility to ensure everyone in his kingdom has what they need? He’s basically saying not to run after other things, nothing will take care of us like Him. He knows what we need and what will kill us if we get it. Trust Him.
PRAYER: Lord, I do trust You. You have always been faithful, You have always been on time and I cannot thank You enough for taking care of me. I appreciate You so much. My total dependence is on You. I have thrown ALL my eggs in Your basket. Amen.
