Jeremiah 12:1-14:10, I Thessalonians 1:1-2:8, Psalm 79:1-13, Proverbs 24:30-34

“I walked by the field of a certain lazy fellow and saw that it was overgrown with thorns; it was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down. Then, as I looked, I learned this lesson: ‘A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest’ means that poverty will break in upon you suddenly like a robber and violently like a bandit.” Proverbs 24:30-34

Nothing wrong with resting, taking that Sunday siesta, or just enjoying some down time because you need it. This proverb is basically stating that’s all this person did. We were designed to work, to be busy and active. Even our body’s require activity, or they begin to break down. I think it’s hard to enjoy relaxation if you haven’t done anything that requires you to slow down. We can also apply this to neglecting your belongings, your relationships or anything that’s being ignored but desperately needs attention. Be quick to do repairs before everything falls apart.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be attentive to the areas of my life that I have been neglecting. Help me to correct these mistreated parts. I pray for a desire to pursue physical activity to prevent health problems and I ask You to help me to be a productive person. Lead and guide me as I work hard in my position in life, help me to do my part. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
