Isaiah 62:6-65:25, Philippians 2:19-3:3, Psalm 73:1-28, Proverbs 24:13-14
“And so, God’s people are dismayed and confused and drink it all in. ‘Does God realize what is going on?’ they ask. ‘Look at these men of arrogance; they never have to lift a finger – theirs is a life of ease; and all the time their riches multiply.’ Have I been wasting my time? Why take the trouble to be pure? All I get out of it is trouble and woe – every day and all day long!” Psalm 73:10-14
This whole Psalm speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever wondered why some seemingly wicked people are fortunate and some very godly people go through such seasons of struggle. The psalmist answers his own question. While in God’s presence, he sees the end of this type of person who doesn’t know or serve God. My friend, all they have is the here and now. If they don’t have a change of heart and come to know the true God then their end is destruction.
Keep your eyes on the Lord and don’t worry about other people. We all have our own walk. Have a grateful heart that you have had the Jesus experience and continue to travel your path in contentment. Instead of jealousy, have compassion toward those who are without Christ.
PRAYER: Lord, teach my eyes to stay focused on myself and my call and not to get caught up in what the world considers success. I do not want to be jealous of a person because they seem like they are doing whatever they want contrary to You and yet still seem prosperous. I am the blessed one because You have given me Your Spirit and eternal life in a land of peace. Nothing here can ever top that. I love and appreciate You. Thank You so much for all that I do have and I do my best to do my best because I love You and I have no desire to “get away” with anything. Thank You for changing my heart. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
