II Chronicles 32:1-33:13, Romans 15:23-16:9, Psalm 25:16-22, Proverbs 20:16-18
“But before I come, I must go down to Jerusalem to take a gift to the Jewish Christians there. For you see, the Christians in Macedonia and Achaia have taken up an offering for those in Jerusalem who are going through such hard times. They were glad to do this, for they feel that they owe a real debt to the Jerusalem Christians. Why? Because the news about Christ came to these Gentiles from the church in Jerusalem. And since they received this wonderful spiritual gift of the Gospel from there, they feel that the least they can do in return is to give some material aid.” Romans 15:25-27
Not long ago, we talked about being blessed in order to be a blessing. Reciprocity should be practiced in the Body of Christ. If everyone would get on the same page in developing a generous, giving heart, then there would be no need in the church. I believe the Lord provides enough for all of us, sometimes it’s just in someone else’s pocket. If our trust is in the Lord, then we won’t be afraid to release some of our resources to fill a need. We will gladly help and then look for someone else to bless.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be attentive to the needs around me and for foreign missions. I want to give to the work of the Gospel and see souls saved for Your glory. Especially help me to remember my Pastor, my home church and everyone who has helped me to grow spiritually. I want to give back. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
