I Chronicles 16:37-18:17, Romans 2:1-24, Psalm 10:16-18, Proverbs 19:8-9
“What else can I say? You know that I am but a dog, yet You have decided to honor me! O Lord, You have given me these wonderful promises just because You want to be kind to me, because of Your own great heart. O Lord, there is no one like You – there is no other God. In fact, we have never even heard of another god like You!” I Chronicles 17:18-20
It’s all about His greatness, His kindness, His mercy, His love. Lord knows, there is nothing great about us apart from Him. All of us at our core can be selfish and manipulative and constantly making things about ourselves if not for constant heart check-ups and a desire to be more like our God that causes us to work on change. David is giving us the key to the kingdom. It is found in a fair assessment of ourselves without guilt and degradation, humility to accept God’s favor and blessing knowing we don’t deserve it, and understanding it’s all about how amazing God is. Just think, there’s nothing we have done to earn His heart, He’s just that good. He cares, He loves, we are important to Him. WOW!
PRAYER: Lord, this scripture blesses my spirit. To think that You like me. There are no words that can express how in awe I am over Your heart. There is no one here in this world to compare You to. Even the best of us still have messed up areas but not You. Thank You for drawing me, saving me and revealing Yourself to me. I want to grow like You so that I can just love folks with no expectation. Love You Lord, amen.
