I Chronicles 11:1-12:18, Acts 28:1-31, Psalm 9:1-12, Proverbs 19:1-3
“A man may ruin his chances by his own foolishness and then blame it on the Lord!” Proverbs 19:3
We can be so ridiculous sometimes! How many people have gone against the express will of God as written clearly in His Word and then turned around and gotten upset with God because it didn’t work out. I can list several things I’ve seen. How about this one, the Bible is clear about having sex outside of marriage, but you repeatedly see Christians doing this. So, he allows this lady he met at church to move in. He really likes her because they hit it off, and she’s a “Christian.” She moves in quits her job, asks for money all the time for her bills, comes home late, lies, etc. Finally, he has to put her out. Why, God, why?! Seriously… You did exactly what you were asked not to do. Through the years, the Lord sends people into our paths to encourage us to stop smoking, stop addictive behavior, etc. We ignore all warning signs and continue on the path. Cancer! Overdose! STD! Why, Lord, why?!
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the mercy and grace You extend to me as You help me grow. I pray to not take advantage of that grace. Help me to use wisdom. Deliver me from bad patterns and addictions. Open my eyes wide and give me a desire to do right. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
