Miracle Moment

II Kings 17:1-18:12, Acts 20:1-38, Psalm 148:1-14, Proverbs 18:6-7

“And now I am going to Jerusalem, drawn there irresistibly by the Holy Spirit, not knowing what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit has told me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. But life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about God’s mighty kindness and love.” Acts 20:22-24

I have been thinking a lot lately about purpose, about how sometimes we get so comfortable in this world that we are afraid to take risk or take a stand, or endanger ourselves in any way. It’s as if we feel that this world is all there is. If we die here there is nothing better so we cling onto life at any cost, we panic at the thought of dying and we grieve terribly when someone passes. But this isn’t how Paul lived his life at all. He was so convinced that Jesus was real, that Holy Spirit was real, the Father was real, and that they offered so much more than this present life. He lived to share this truth with as many people as possible before he closed his eyes. I pray the Lord will shift our priorities and give us a burden for souls, no matter. I pray we will become more kingdom minded. I have a strong inclination that if we don’t, we may get swept away with the culture of this world. Lines are being drawn; will the real sheep give me a BAA.

PRAYER: Lord, I want to be on the sheep side. I want to be wheat not a tare. I am working out my salvation with fear and trembling. I am asking You to speak louder than culture, louder than politics, louder than those I love. I want to know and follow You. I don’t want to miss You Lord. I don’t want to miss my moment. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
