II Samuel 18:1-19:10, John 20:1-31, Psalm 119:153-176, Proverbs 16:14-15
“He spoke to them again and said, ‘As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’ Then He breathed on them and told them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21
When we are converted to faith in Christ, it’s so much more than just saving our own souls. We are to be the image of Jesus in this world. We have challenges with that because we are human beings, however, we can’t use that as an excuse not to try our best. II Peter 1:3 states that God has given us everything we need to live this life for Him. Besides an open spirit, changed heart and guidance, God has given us Himself in the form of Holy Spirit. Our part is to receive Him and walk with Him. He is gentle and will not shout us down. It’s our responsibility to listen for His wisdom and direction.
PRAYER: Lord, I am seeking Your face for the path and for the ability and desire to be more and more like You. I pray to not grieve Holy Spirit. Forgive me for my short comings and help me grow. I want to be a light to those who are struggling, I ask You to help me be a victor so others can see my example and walk above defeat. Teach me to be spiritual and peaceful so others can learn that it is possible to rise above the stress of this world. Help me to be faithful so they can see how patient and true you are. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
