Miracle Moment

Job 31:1-33:33; II Corinthians 3:1-18; Psalm 43:1-5; Proverbs 22:8-9

“Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness – not like Moses, who use to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel could not look at the end of what was fading away. But their minds were closed. For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ. However, to this day, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts, but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We all, with unveiled faces, are reflecting the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (II Corinthians 3:12-17)

Moses spent forty days and nights on the mountain with God. In His presence Moses didn’t have to eat or drink. How amazing is that. Makes me hungry just thinking about it. When Moses returned down that mountain with the Ten Commandments carved in stone, the people couldn’t even look at him. The glory of the Lord was so on him that he had to begin wearing a veil and he kept it on to prevent the people from seeing the glory fade.

He presented these rules to the people and it brought about death within them. It revealed their sin and showed them that they were unable to keep them all. The commandments were intended to show us that we cannot fulfill the righteousness of God apart from Him. As though we were children or servants, the law became our tutor until Christ Jesus. When Jesus came He redeemed us, adopted us and has given us His Spirit to reside within our hearts. (Galatians 4:2-7) He moved us from servanthood to sonship.

Paul said, “If you think that glory and those commandments that brought about death was something, just wait till you meet my Jesus. We just gonna let the bright light shine over here because it will never fade away like the old covenant.” Until we are born again and as long as we live under the law of the Ten Commandments we will be blind. We will strive and struggle to keep the law and it will keep us away from the liberty in Jesus. We mean well trying to follow the commandments but Jesus said He had only two commandments: to love your God and your neighbor as yourself. If we would follow these two commandments there would be no need for the rest.

The Word says that even to this day when the law is read it places a veil, or a wall, between us and God. God specifically tore down the veil that kept us from intimate relationship with Him when Jesus died on that cross. So we see the only thing that can remove that veil (wall), is to turn to the Lord with all faith in His work, not ours. Once we receive that redemption, the adoption, and the infilling of His Spirit, our spiritual walk soars and is no longer a duty or burden. We are being transformed from glory to glory with our faces a reflection of His light.

PRAYER:

Lord, I release all of my spiritual inhibitions to You. My heart is open, I want to move beyond the grind of trying to obey Your rules. I want relationship, I want to seriously know You. Lord, I pray that when people look at me they will see Your glory shining through my face. Every day when I get up I want to look and feel like I just spent forty days on a mountain with You. I pray for those who are struggling, trying to find the truth that lies between law and love. Lord, help us all to know and represent You the way You desire to be known. I love You and give You all of the praise. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Pastor Ricky and Jeannie Sinclair

From Ricky’s book, Miracle-at-Large, Ricky became an evangelist spreading the word of God through his testimony. He was a fire. He would go in, light it up and encourage people in the places he shared his testimony. When you’re an evangelist, you breeze in and breeze out, and you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone. But that was the start of the ministry. His evangelism was birthed from the book that came out, which gave him a platform. People started following us and we gave them resources and suggested churches to get plugged into. However, we developed a following of people that would not go anywhere else but honestly, it was not in our heart to start a physical church.

With us not wanting to turn people away, we started meeting together as a prayer group and started having a little teaching within the prayer group. But then, we were bursting out of our living room. Our house could squeeze 30 to 60 people in it butt here was not much you can do in it anymore with people wall-to-wall. We had John Mayers and his wife leading worship through singing and playing a guitar. We had all the elements for church, which led to people pressing us to start a church and they wouldn’t go anywhere else. With us growing but not ready for a church, we had to look into bigger spaces and started with one conference room in a hotel. However, we eventually consumed every conference room in the hotel as we continued to grow.

As we grew, we saw a lot of gifts and opportunities. As a result, we wanted to start a physical church where everybody was included and invited. Even if they seemed like they didn’t fit into a“traditional church”, they would be accepted at our church. I sought God and God spoke to my heart and said, “I want you to start a church and I’m going to send everybody that is like you to the church. You will have a church and they’ll be other churches, too. There will be people that I send to those churches, but you will become your own individual church with the people that I’m creating and building for your church.” That’s how we became our own identity and individual church with our own personality that God established because God put this in Ricky’s heart. Everyone from various backgrounds would be welcomed as family and they would have a place for them to go to church in a family… MiraclePlace Church.
