“Don’t rob a poor man because he is poor, and don’t crush the oppressed at the gate, for the Lord will take up their case and will plunder those who plunder them.” (Proverbs 22:22-23)
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That’s the Golden Rule. We especially don’t want to be found guilty of harassing those who are less fortunate. While God loves everyone, His heart is particularly moved concerning people who aren’t able to defend themselves. While it may appear that God doesn’t move fast enough, rest assured we will all reap what we sow. If we mistreat others, it will surely come back to haunt us at some point in time. God is faithful.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to remember the underdog. I pray to be an encourager of people and not an oppressor. Give me the boldness to take up righteous causes for the underprivileged. Should I ever find myself on the other side of the coin, I pray You will defend me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. |
