Miracle Moment

February 28, 2025
Nehemiah 12:27-13:31; I Corinthians 11:1-16; Psalm 35:1-16; Proverbs 21:17-18

“The one who loves pleasure will become a poor man; whoever loves wine and oil will not get rich.” (Proverbs 21:17)

You know, there’s nothing wrong with having a good time and God is not opposed to our having fun. The reality of life is that we must have a balance between work and play. It’s delusional to think we could live merely for fun and pleasure. If we did that, then any lack of pleasure in our lives would result in depression. It’s simply not realistic.

I like to think we derive a certain amount of satisfaction and fulfillment from doing a job well. It satisfies and validates a need within us. God has given us internal pockets. One that is filled by Him, one by relationships, one by work, one by fun, etc. When we equalize all of these areas it causes us to be complete and makes our lives whole. God is so wonderful and complex. I appreciate the depth of life found in Him.

PRAYER:

Lord, I pray for balance in my life. I ask You to keep me steady. Life is fantastic and I want to enjoy every aspect about it, including work! I love You Lord and I pray as I grow, I will become more and more conformed into Your likeness. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
