“Don’t repay evil for evil. Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.” Proverbs 20:22
In the New Testament we’re told to go a step further and love our enemies and pray for people who use us. What a concept right?! Lord, You are really flattening my pride with this!! I think that’s probably the idea. God uses all types of people and situations to develop us into the person we need to be. There are truly evil people in this world and if we will give them to the Lord, we free Him up to defend us. If we choose to hate and figure out ways to “get them back,” then we take that burden on ourselves. Trust God my friend and pray for your offender. If they don’t change, they will receive far worse than anything you or I could do to them.
PRAYER: Lord, life is so incredibly hard sometimes and people can be so mean and unworthy of forgiveness. Please remind of the forgiveness you extended to me help me to do the same for others. Heal my heart, in Jesus’ name, amen. |
