Miracle Moment

II Chronicles 19:1-20:37; Romans 10:14-11:12; Psalm 21:1-13; Proverbs 20:4-6

“Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he resolved to seek the Lord. So he proclaimed a fast for all Judah, who gathered to seek the Lord. They even came from all the cities of Judah to seek Him.” (II Chronicles 20:3-4)

“Our God will you not judge them? For we are powerless before this vast multitude that comes against us. We do not know what to do, but we look to You.” (V12)

“This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (V15)

“You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.’ Then Jehoshaphat bowed with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord to worship Him. Then the Levites from the sons of Hohathites and the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel shouting in a loud voice.” (V17-19)

“As they were about to go out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.’ Then he consulted with the people and appointed some to sing for the Lord and some to praise the splendor of His holiness. When they went out in front of the armed forces, they kept singing: ‘Give thanks to the Lord, for His faithful love endures forever.’ The moment they began their shouts and praises, the Lord set an ambush against the Ammonites, Moabites, and the inhabitants of Mount Seir who came to fight against Judah, and they were defeated.” (V20-22)

Our God specializes in hopeless cases, overwhelming odds, and impossibilities. He is absolutely amazing. And if the odds are too close that a man may be given the glory, He lessens them so that it is an absolute undeniable victory for Him. For some of us, we have seen God move in such a way. Our backs were against the wall, no hope for victory, the chips were down and then somehow, some way, the Lord came shining through and rescued us. For those of you who haven’t experienced that, you will at some point if you will just seek Him. Jehoshaphat had to seek the Lord and acknowledge His dependence on the Him. He simply said, “Geez man, we don’t know what to do but we do have enough sense to look to You Lord. Help!” These are the things from today’s reading that I believe we can utilize in our own lives when faced with overpowering issues: 1. Admit that you can’t. 2. Acknowledge that He can. 3. Go ahead and set in your spirit that the manifestation of victory will probably begin the moment you are expected to be in your worst spot with your enemy or challenge. 4. Start praising, singing and shouting to God like you know He’s already caused you to prevail, because He has. Come on you big cheerleader, get the joy!

PRAYER:

Lord, I pray to have an exorbitant amount of faith. I pray to have a song in the night. I pray to always have the sense to seek You and know that You are faithful and well able to conquer whatever problems I may be facing. I feel the peace of God coming on me just by confessing this simple prayer. I truly believe that You are with me. I honor and love You Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Pastor Ricky and Jeannie Sinclair

From Ricky’s book, Miracle-at-Large, Ricky became an evangelist spreading the word of God through his testimony. He was a fire. He would go in, light it up and encourage people in the places he shared his testimony. When you’re an evangelist, you breeze in and breeze out, and you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone. But that was the start of the ministry. His evangelism was birthed from the book that came out, which gave him a platform. People started following us and we gave them resources and suggested churches to get plugged into. However, we developed a following of people that would not go anywhere else but honestly, it was not in our heart to start a physical church.

With us not wanting to turn people away, we started meeting together as a prayer group and started having a little teaching within the prayer group. But then, we were bursting out of our living room. Our house could squeeze 30 to 60 people in it butt here was not much you can do in it anymore with people wall-to-wall. We had John Mayers and his wife leading worship through singing and playing a guitar. We had all the elements for church, which led to people pressing us to start a church and they wouldn’t go anywhere else. With us growing but not ready for a church, we had to look into bigger spaces and started with one conference room in a hotel. However, we eventually consumed every conference room in the hotel as we continued to grow.

As we grew, we saw a lot of gifts and opportunities. As a result, we wanted to start a physical church where everybody was included and invited. Even if they seemed like they didn’t fit into a“traditional church”, they would be accepted at our church. I sought God and God spoke to my heart and said, “I want you to start a church and I’m going to send everybody that is like you to the church. You will have a church and they’ll be other churches, too. There will be people that I send to those churches, but you will become your own individual church with the people that I’m creating and building for your church.” That’s how we became our own identity and individual church with our own personality that God established because God put this in Ricky’s heart. Everyone from various backgrounds would be welcomed as family and they would have a place for them to go to church in a family… MiraclePlace Church.

Here we are still standing today with the same message from 2001: Everyone from various backgrounds are welcomed as family and this is a place for you to actually go to church in a family… Miracle Place Church in Baker, LA. Come as you are, You Belong Here!
