II Chronicles 8:11-10:19; Romans 8:9-25; Psalm 18:16-36; Proverbs 16:26

“For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it – in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of corruption into the glorious freedom of God’s children.” (Romans 8:19-21)

Sin has affected everyone and everything. Even the earth itself is contaminated because of the sin nature in those not born again and the sin principle that still resides in the flesh of those who are. Our sin and greed have put great demands on the home the Lord has given us, but it’s all good. It is waiting for its redemption as well. We do need to do what we can to sustain it so it will last the human lifetime. Know that it will eventually be burned with fervent heat though. (II Peter 3:10) I’ve often wondered how that would happen. Will it implode, will it be from a nuclear disaster? At any rate, just like us, the earth will receive its “glorified body.” (II Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1)

Above I mentioned the sin principle that still abides in the flesh of the unbeliever. If we could break ourselves down, we would basically consist of three components. Our spirit, our soul and our body. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior then our spirit becomes born again. The sinful nature we inherited no longer has dominion over us because the blood of Jesus unlocked our spirit from the stranglehold of sin. We are no longer compelled to sin. We also have a new awareness. Because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we now have a conviction that may have not been fully present before. This conviction helps us to “keep the car between the lines,” so to speak. Our spirit is where our connection to the Holy Spirit happens. It is where God speaks to us and it needs to be where our decision making and strength come from, not from the flesh or the reasoning of our minds.

The flesh, our body, is the vehicle that we ride around in on planet earth. It’s not going to last so we don’t want to build our worth around it, nor do we want to get too attached. It will continue to mature until the day that it expires. Our flesh, our looks, these are not the real us so be sure to work on the inside more than the outside. Do take care of yourself though because it’s the only ride you’ve got! But flesh is actually pairing us up with an unbeliever. It’s like we live every day with a bad influence hanging around. Even though our spirits have been born again, this durn flesh has not! It still has crazy desires and will try to impose them on us at every turn. We can leave an area, and we can part ways with other people, but we cannot escape ourselves, we must fight. The Apostle Paul has been encouraging us to mortify the deeds of the flesh, which means to contain and subdue them. It’s our responsibility to not allow our flesh to rule and again that can only happen if we walk in the Spirit.

Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. It embodies our essence. Our soul is a strong ally of whichever way it is swayed. To make our lives in Christ bearable and successful it is of the utmost importance to connect our spirit and our soul. If we allow our souls to connect with our flesh, it will steal every good thing the Lord has done for us. We have the potential to find ourselves right back where we started from prior to salvation. We call it being backslidden. It is a state that Israel found herself in many times and it is not a good place. (Jeremiah 3:6) You literally pull yourself out of the protection and blessing of God by opening doors to the enemy to knock your brains out.

In Proverbs 14:14 and in Jeremiah 2:19 the Lord basically says that He’s going to back up and let the lesson teach itself. But I’ve got great news for you, if you will learn from the lesson and repent then God will receive you. Do your best not to go there though. It’s much easier to stay faithful from the beginning. Pair your mind up with your spirit and live an abundant life!

PRAYER:

Lord, I thank You for making a way for me to live a victorious life. I thank You that I don’t have to live in habitual sin, and I also thank You that if I do happen to slip, I have a way back to You. You are the Great God, and I am grateful to be Yours. I pray Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I pray for all of Your sons to be revealed so we can move on to the next phase of life with You. Lord, I love You and I pray for those who are being born again that they will get this concept concerning the flesh early on so they can spare themselves some struggles and confusion. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pastor Ricky and Jeannie Sinclair

From Ricky’s book, Miracle-at-Large, Ricky became an evangelist spreading the word of God through his testimony. He was a fire. He would go in, light it up and encourage people in the places he shared his testimony. When you’re an evangelist, you breeze in and breeze out, and you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone. But that was the start of the ministry. His evangelism was birthed from the book that came out, which gave him a platform. People started following us and we gave them resources and suggested churches to get plugged into. However, we developed a following of people that would not go anywhere else but honestly, it was not in our heart to start a physical church.

With us not wanting to turn people away, we started meeting together as a prayer group and started having a little teaching within the prayer group. But then, we were bursting out of our living room. Our house could squeeze 30 to 60 people in it butt here was not much you can do in it anymore with people wall-to-wall. We had John Mayers and his wife leading worship through singing and playing a guitar. We had all the elements for church, which led to people pressing us to start a church and they wouldn’t go anywhere else. With us growing but not ready for a church, we had to look into bigger spaces and started with one conference room in a hotel. However, we eventually consumed every conference room in the hotel as we continued to grow.

As we grew, we saw a lot of gifts and opportunities. As a result, we wanted to start a physical church where everybody was included and invited. Even if they seemed like they didn’t fit into a“traditional church”, they would be accepted at our church. I sought God and God spoke to my heart and said, “I want you to start a church and I’m going to send everybody that is like you to the church. You will have a church and they’ll be other churches, too. There will be people that I send to those churches, but you will become your own individual church with the people that I’m creating and building for your church.” That’s how we became our own identity and individual church with our own personality that God established because God put this in Ricky’s heart. Everyone from various backgrounds would be welcomed as family and they would have a place for them to go to church in a family… MiraclePlace Church.

Here we are still standing today with the same message from 2001: Everyone from various backgrounds are welcomed as family and this is a place for you to actually go to church in a family… Miracle Place Church in Baker, LA. Come as you are, You Belong Here!
