“Unless the Lord builds a house its builder’s labor in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain. In vain you get up early and stay up late, eating food earned by hard work; certainly He gives sleep to the one He loves.” (Psalm 127:1-2)
Not to take away from personal responsibility, but ultimately success is from the Lord. It is all dependent on His greater plan. Of course we have our part to play, we can’t just sit on our laurels and “wait” on God. As we move forward in what He has placed in our hearts to do, ministry, work, raising a family, etc., He meets us where we are and blesses our efforts. So definitely don’t just sit on your behind doing nothing. This scripture is basically saying that we can’t stress over life. Get up every day and do what you do but know that our God is in control. Through prayer and relationship all that you do will be blessed with the peace of God. Stay focused on Him and even as you face challenges in life your stress level will remain even, knowing that He has all things under control.
PRAYER:
Father, I ask You to give me a revelation on the above topic. I want to be able to relax, trusting that You have my back, that I am included in Your master plan. Please give me balance between work and my own efforts and how I should depend on you to take care of me. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen. |
