“When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and knew that they had been with Jesus. And since they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in response.” (Acts 4:13-14)
Ever get concerned that you aren’t wise enough or smart enough or spiritual enough to be used by God. Then I’ve got great news for you. Jesus chose ordinary people from a variety of backgrounds, from fishermen to tax collectors. Those would be the equivalent of blue to white collar in our day. So relax, God is only looking for a yielded vessel. He chose you just the way you are and will give you the power and confidence you need to accomplish the call He has placed on your life. Continue to draw close to the Lord, stay in fellowship with other believers, be faithful in church and service and grow in the Word and you will find that you have the boldness of the disciples. Your witness will in turn demonstrate the reality of Jesus and shut the mouths of the doubters and detractors.
PRAYER:
Lord, I am submitted to You. I trust and thank You for giving me the opportunity to serve You. I am not going to look at my own skills and abilities but rather I am just going to relax and allow You to flow through me. Let me shine for Your glory, let people see You in me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. |
