II Samuel 9:1-11:27; John 15:1-27; Psalm 119:49-64; Proverbs 16:1-3

“As the Father has loved Me. I have also loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love. I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is My command: love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father. You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. This is what I command you: love one another.” (John 15:9-17)

Jesus’s statements and commands all revolve around love. “I have loved you, remain in my love, if you keep my commands you will remain in my love, no greater love than a friend laying down their life, I command you to love one another.” Why? Because love is the single most powerful force in the world. Love can make you sick, love can make you strong, and love through the process of forgiveness can heal a heart. Love will make you push harder, be bolder, and live wilder than you could ever imagine.

It is our responsibility to “remain in His love.” It is our responsibility to do as He has commanded us so that we may remain in His love. Why? People have a tendency to drift away. You ever fallen in love with someone and when the newness wore off so did all of those sweet little things you did for them at the beginning? Jesus tells us not to allow ourselves to get to that point. We are to stay alert, stay close and stay obedient. I mean really, what was the overbearing command that Jesus left us? To love Him and to love one another. Oooohhh. Brutal. It’s not like He left us this list of rules to abide by. Although honestly, sometimes a list may be easier to keep. Have you ever tried loving some of the people in the Body of Christ? Not always the easiest thing to do. I’m sure we aren’t so lovable at times either. Jesus wanted them and He wants us to truly love Him because true love sticks it out when times are tough. Real love can be counted on to fulfill their part of the relationship regardless of how they “feel.”

You will also note that Jesus elevated our status from slave to friend. We are no longer relegated to the substandard housing, menial chores and blind obedience. He has let us in on all things pertaining to Him and His great plan of redemption. Things that the saints of time past could only imagine and here we have it all laid out for us in black and white. God is so incredible. Just think the Master, Creator and Sustainer of the Universe calls us friend. We have the opportunity to dialogue with Him, unlike a slave would. What an intimate relationship we have with our God, truly He is real, life-giving and personal. How could we not believe, how could we not give our all, how could we not bear fruit by revealing our relationship to Him with others who may not know. People are hurting, lost and dying for what we have. His love and the stability He offers is so needed in this world. Don’t be ashamed, our God is truth. Rise up and live the life you’ve been called to, no more wallowing in the muck and sin, you are royalty, behave as such and share the great love you have experienced with those around you.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me to see myself the way You see me so that I will live up to the standard and not beneath it. I refuse to be moved about by my emotions, I am a powerful person of God and I am full of Your Holy Spirit. I have everything I need to live this life for You. I pray to walk as a true friend of Yours as a person abiding in You so that I can have the power and ability to bear fruit for Your kingdom. I pray Your anointing would be so heavy on me that people will come up and ask me about what makes me so peaceful and happy. I thank You in advance for open doors of witness. I thank You that I will reveal truth to multitudes of people, and I will have the joy of seeing them become free. I love You Lord and I give You all of the glory, Amen.

Pastor Ricky and Jeannie Sinclair

From Ricky’s book, Miracle-at-Large, Ricky became an evangelist spreading the word of God through his testimony. He was a fire. He would go in, light it up and encourage people in the places he shared his testimony. When you’re an evangelist, you breeze in and breeze out, and you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone. But that was the start of the ministry. His evangelism was birthed from the book that came out, which gave him a platform. People started following us and we gave them resources and suggested churches to get plugged into. However, we developed a following of people that would not go anywhere else but honestly, it was not in our heart to start a physical church.

With us not wanting to turn people away, we started meeting together as a prayer group and started having a little teaching within the prayer group. But then, we were bursting out of our living room. Our house could squeeze 30 to 60 people in it butt here was not much you can do in it anymore with people wall-to-wall. We had John Mayers and his wife leading worship through singing and playing a guitar. We had all the elements for church, which led to people pressing us to start a church and they wouldn’t go anywhere else. With us growing but not ready for a church, we had to look into bigger spaces and started with one conference room in a hotel. However, we eventually consumed every conference room in the hotel as we continued to grow.

As we grew, we saw a lot of gifts and opportunities. As a result, we wanted to start a physical church where everybody was included and invited. Even if they seemed like they didn’t fit into a“traditional church”, they would be accepted at our church. I sought God and God spoke to my heart and said, “I want you to start a church and I’m going to send everybody that is like you to the church. You will have a church and they’ll be other churches, too. There will be people that I send to those churches, but you will become your own individual church with the people that I’m creating and building for your church.” That’s how we became our own identity and individual church with our own personality that God established because God put this in Ricky’s heart. Everyone from various backgrounds would be welcomed as family and they would have a place for them to go to church in a family… MiraclePlace Church.

Here we are still standing today with the same message from 2001: Everyone from various backgrounds are welcomed as family and this is a place for you to actually go to church in a family… Miracle Place Church in Baker, LA. Come as you are, You Belong Here!
