Miracle Moment

February 7, 2024
II Chronicles 19:1-20:37, Romans 10:14-11:12, Psalm 21:1-13, Proverbs 20:4-6

“‘Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem, and you, O King Jehoshaphat!’ he exclaimed. ‘The Lord says, ‘Don’t be paralyzed by this mighty army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s! Tomorrow go down and attack them! You will find them coming up the slopes of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not need to fight! Take your places; stand quietly and see the incredible rescue operation God will perform for you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem! Don’t be afraid or discouraged! Go out there tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!’ Then King Jehoshaphat fell to the ground with his face to the earth, and all the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the Lord.” II Chronicles 20:15-18

King Jehoshaphat hears about these armies who are coming to attack he and his people. He calls all of the people and priests together and cries out to God and puts God in remembrance that these are His people. Jehoshaphat confesses their weakness and total dependency on the Lord. This blesses God and He in turn sends them the above message. The point being, sometimes the enemy of your soul will send out troops against you and the first thing you need to do is remind God of how amazing He is, the promises He has made and how dependent you are on Him to move on your behalf. As you read further down in the text, it goes on to say they struck up the band and started worshiping. So, if it were me, I think I’d follow this pattern. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! One of God’s greatest desires is to be your hero! It just blesses Him to show out!

PRAYER: I am totally dependent on You Lord. You are faithful to protect Your people and to honor Your promises. I am shouting! Glory to You! I cannot tell You how much I love and appreciate You, not so much for the blessings but because I can depend on Your character. In this world of instability, You are a comfort to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
