Joshua 19:1-20:9; Luke 19:28-48; Psalm 88:1-18; Proverbs 13:12-14

“Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out before You day and night. May my prayer reach your presence; listen to my cry.” (Psalm 88:1-2)

The psalmist is walking through some deep waters and has been it seems. He attributes his rough patch of life to God’s hand. Even though God is not the initiator of a lot of things that occur in life, He is sovereign. Sovereignty implies that regardless of whether or not God starts something, He does have the ability to end or change it. Everything that occurs in our life must past through the filter of God’s hand. As children of God, we have to trust there is purpose for all things we go through in life even though we may not see the virtue in it at the time. We must all admit that when we are hurting it’s tough to see and appreciate the lesson or purpose for the trial.

Romans 8:28 reads, “And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to His purpose.”

Remain steady, continue to hold on to the unchanging hand of God. He is faithful, He said He would never leave you nor forsake. (Hebrews 13:5-6) So despite what we walk through here, life is but a short time, keep your eyes focused on eternity. And always remember, no matter what it feels like, you are not alone.

PRAYER:

Lord, I pray for those who have walked through a long season of pain and heartache. They just wonder if You hear their cries. I know You do and I ask You to have great mercy on them. Allow them to sense Your presence, Lord. I pray You would give them the breakthrough they so desperately need. Proverbs 13:12 tells us that hope delayed makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is the tree of life. I’m praying for hope to be answered. Renewed hope for Your faithful hearts. I love and trust You. I am Yours. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
