Miracle Moment

October 30, 2024
Joshua 16:1-18:28; Psalm 87:1-7; Proverbs 13:11; Luke 19:1-27

“And Zacchaeus stood and said unto the Lord, ‘Behold Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I will restore him four times.'” (Luke 19:8)

Zacchaeus was a tax collector for the Roman government. Many tax collectors at that time were corrupt. To say the least they had bad reputations. Jesus has just passed through Jericho and Zacchaeus hears He is coming his way. He wants to see Jesus, so he climbs a tree because he is a height challenged man. Amazingly, when Jesus gets to the tree, He looks up and tells Zacchaeus that He wants to come to his house. When they got to his home something supernatural happens. We call it being born again. (John 3:3) There is evidence of this internal change as Zacchaeus makes the statement in the scripture above concerning making things right with people he has done wrong. Jesus then says, “This day is salvation come to this house.” (Luke 19:9)

When we finally turn our lives over to Christ His power takes over. Now we want to love and serve people. We have conviction and a desire to live for God and do His will. Just as Zacchaeus was converted by the power of Christ, God’s conviction began to operate within him by the power of Holy Spirit.

I remember many years ago when I came to the end of myself like Zacchaeus. I gave my heart to Jesus Christ and have never been the same. Maybe you are tired, no, sick and tired of being sick and tired. That’s tired enough to make you want to change. Pray today from your heart and you will never be the same again.

PRAYER:

God I am empty, and I have tried everything and still I’m unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I ask You to forgive and heal me. I give You my heart and my life. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. God I no longer want to live for myself but from now on I want to live for You as You guide me. I declare Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. It’s in Your name that I pray. Amen.
