“But as for me, Lord, my prayer to You is for a time of favor. In Your abundant, faithful love, God, answer me with Your sure salvation.” (Psalm 69:13)
Throughout this Psalm the writer is pleading for God to rescue him. He has suffered much persecution and insults, he is tired. Have you ever felt like the walls were closing in, that seemingly everyone was ganging up on you? Like the Psalmist we must cry out to God, “Lord, give us favor, hear our cry Jesus and give us an answer.”
Although it may feel like it sometimes, God is never very far from any of us. The psalmist had no problem asking the Lord for a season of “favor” and for His delivering power. If you are walking through deep waters right now, take a moment to pour your heart out to God. And as it reads in Hebrews 10:35, “Don’t throw away your confidence, which has great reward. For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.” This simply means that once you put your need on the table and have done your part – stand in faith, knowing that God has heard and is acting on your behalf behind the scenes. I feel a time of favor and deliverance coming your way! Woohoo!!!
PRAYER:
Father, I lay my heart before You. You alone know the things I have endured. I am asking for Your great mercy to arise and cover me. I’m worn-out Jesus and I need to be free from this situation. I am pleading for favor, faith to be patient and grace to endure. I love You, my life is in Your hands. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. |
