Miracle Moment

Leviticus 24:1-25:46; Mark 10:13-31; Psalm 44:9-26; Proverbs 10:20-21

“The land is not to be permanently sold because it is Mine, and you are only foreigners and temporary residents on My land. You are to allow the redemption of any land you occupy. If your brother becomes destitute and sells his part of his property, his nearest relative may come and redeem what his brother has sold. If a man has no family redeemer, but he prospers and obtains enough to redeem his land, he may calculate the years since its sale, repay the balance to the man he sold it to, and return to his property. But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will remain in the possession of its purchaser until the Year of Jubilee. It is to be released at the Jubilee, so that he may return to his property.” (Leviticus 25:23-28)

People would hit on hard times and sell their property so they could make it. In some cases they would give themselves as a slave in order to repay a debt. The Lord’s rule was if they or a family member came up with the funds then they could redeem the property or the person from the purchaser. The deal was really more of a lease than a sale. The person was actually leasing for the value of what the land was able to produce during harvest. So it was a lease because as we read in the above scripture, ALL land (everything really) belongs to the Lord. We are all just strangers passing through. If a person was unable to redeem themselves and lacked a family member who was able to rescue them, then in the 50th year they were released from their debt. Their freedom and/or land was restored because the Lord Himself redeemed them. This is called the Year of Jubilee when all debt was paid, and freedom was granted. We all owe a debt that we could never repay, no matter how many lifetimes we have. And our family members are in the same boat as we are so there is no way that we could help each other. Thank God for the Year of Jubilee when Jesus, our kinsman redeemer, set us free. This could be your Year of Jubilee. Have you experienced Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Have you known the freedom of spirit that comes from living for Him? Have you lived for God some time in the past and for whatever reason you drifted off track? If you find yourself enslaved or if you’ve become indebted to the things of the world, then know that God’s perfect will is for you to be free. He has made a way through the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ.

We have all gone astray from our Creator, so He sent His Son Jesus to be a payment for our wrongs. Jesus was born of a virgin woman who was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God. He experienced all trials and temptations of life just like us only He never sinned. How amazing is that. He had the opportunity to sin but He never gave in. We were the prize for His obedience. If we are willing to accept what He has done by acknowledging that He freely laid down His life and paid the penalty for our sins, then we can be saved. If we just take that step, God will change the desires of our hearts and enable us to live for Him. Something supernatural will take place in our spirits as we yield to our Creator.

PRAYER:

Father, I receive the work of Jesus and accept Him as my Lord and Savior. I ask You to forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of all unrighteousness and change the desires of my heart. Teach me how to live for You. Show me Your perfect will for my life. I know from this day forward, although I may not be perfect, I am changed and will forever be growing into a more Christ-like person. Teach me Your Word and transform me into a powerful warrior for Your kingdom. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
