| Exodus 35:10-36:38; Matthew 27:32-66; Psalm 34:1-10; Proverbs 9:7-8
“Everyone whose heart was moved and whose spirit prompted him came and brought an offering to the Lord to construct the tent of meeting for every use, and to make the holy garments. Both men and women came; all who had willing hearts brought brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces, and all kinds of gold jewelry – everyone who waved a presentation offering of gold to the Lord.” (Exodus 35:21-22)
“So the Israelites brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all the men and women whose hearts prompted them to bring something for all the work that the Lord, through Moses, had commanded to be done.” (35:29)
“So Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the Lord had placed wisdom, everyone whose heart moved him, to come to the work and do it.” (Exodus 36:2)
“…and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than is needed for the construction of the work the Lord commanded to be done.’ After Moses gave an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: ‘Let no man or woman make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ So the people stopped. The materials were sufficient for them to do all the work. There was more than enough.” (36:5-7)
Every person who’s heart was touched stepped up to the plate for this project with Moses. If we will all come together with a good spirit and a happy heart bringing what gift, skills and physical offerings we have for the Lord, then we will be able to do something really outstanding for Him. Our unity would speak volumes to those who do not believe. Our generous hearts would reveal confidence in a Savior who is more than worthy of our substance and a genuine love for our God that knows no boundaries.
Everyone has something to give towards the work of the kingdom and if we would all move by the prompting of our hearts without fear and doubt we would have more than enough to accomplish what God has called us to do. We will never see that day until all of us come together. In Acts 2, it was when everyone came into one accord that the Holy Spirit was able to come and do mighty works. Watch out, I hear the sound of a mighty, rushing wind…
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be obedient to the prompting of my heart concerning my spirituality and the part I am to play in the body. I yield myself to You and pray for Your great mercy and grace to lead me and my brothers and sisters in Christ. Teach us how to come together so that we can see a great transformation in this world. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. |
