| Exodus 12:14-13:16; Matthew 20:29-21:22; Psalm 25:16-22; Proverbs 6:12-15
Pharaoh has hardened his heart through a series of plagues now. All of these plagues were a sign language to reveal God and who He is so that Egypt would line up with His perfect will. Each time Pharaoh refused to obey, the next plague got a little stronger. Ever seem like things are getting worse? Now God tells Moses to get Israel ready for the Passover. He tells him that after tonight Pharaoh will let His people go. God knew the one thing Pharaoh loved more than anything in the world was his son. Pharaoh considered himself a god and his son would one day take his throne and would also be a god. We must never make ourselves out to be god or exalt ourselves. A man must never compete for God’s glory or he will surely lose.
God told Moses to have every Israeli household take a lamb, a lamb for a house, and kill it, then take the blood and place it over the door post and down the two side posts. When God would see the blood he would not allow the destroyer to come into that particular house. All of Israel did as the Lord said and within every house that was not covered by the blood, the first born of the children and beast died. Pharaoh called Moses in the night and commanded Israel to leave Egypt. God’s Word teaches that because of the favor of God not only were the covenant children delivered out of Egyptian bondage, but the Egyptians gave them anything they wanted (Exodus 12:35-37). They left rich as they spoiled the Egyptians on the way out of town.
By the blood of Christ you will be delivered, God will save your family. God’s favor will cause people to give to you. God’s presence will go with you wherever you go. He was a fire (light) by night and a cloud (protective, providing guide) by day. The blood of Jesus will release the Holy Spirit to lead you.
PRAYER:
God I plead the blood of Jesus over me and my family. The same favor and blessing that came upon Israel I pray over my household. Cause us to prosper in every aspect of our lives. Give us life and life more abundantly. We honor You Father and give You all of the glory for everything we are. Thanks once again Lord for all You do. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
