| I Chronicles 15:1-16:36, Romans 1:18-32, Psalm 10:1-15, Proverbs 19:6-7
“Instead of believing what they knew was truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So, they prayed to the things God made, but wouldn’t obey the blessed God who made these things.” Romans 1:25
If you were ever wondering how people find themselves at the bottom and so far from God this would explain it. Sometimes WE CHOOSE to believe a lie. WE CHOOSE to exalt other things in our lives besides the living God. Earlier in the chapter we saw God stated that this world was evidence of His existence and that we would be without excuse when we stand before Him one day to give an account of our lives. I strongly exhort every one of us to seek out God, take time to study His Word and to know Him. Our eternal destiny is worth searching out. I don’t know about you, but when I am buying a car, a house or anything of expense and value, I put the work in to get my best deal. If we could just invest that much effort into finding out the truth of this life and the next, I am sure God will open and our eyes and reveal Himself to us. We love and bless you and want you to make your call and election sure. Again, we encourage you to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. (II Peter 1:10, Philippians 2:12)
PRAYER: Lord, reveal Yourself to me. Forgive me for pushing You away and believing the lies of the world. Save me, sanctify me, make me right. Help me to fulfill the call you have placed on my life. In Jesus’ name, amen. |
