“So, David inquired of God: ‘Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?’ The Lord answered him, ‘Go, I will deliver them into your hands.’ So, David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, ‘As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand.’ So that place was called Baal Perazim.” I Chronicles 14:10-11
Love this scripture! If you have ever had a struggle against sin in your life you will too. Philistines are usually symbolic of sin or enemies. Baal means lord or owner. Perazim means to break out or break through. David heard his enemies were coming for him so, he asked the Lord if he should go after them; would he be victorious. The scripture above was the Lord’s reply. Whenever we have an enemy or overpowering sin in our lives, we need to seek God about it. The Lord is Baal Perazim – the Owner or Lord of the breakthrough! I am praying for you, that you will experience the breakthrough or the breakout that you have been seeking God for. You are an overcomer, you are a conqueror, you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you!! Or, as this scripture says, God can do all things through your hands.
PRAYER: Lord, I lift my weak areas before You and humbly ask for Your help. Your Word tells me I am more than a conqueror and I do pray to walk in that mindset of victory. I confess that You are my Lord of breakthrough, in Jesus’ name, amen. |
